All public schools, including the Blaine County School District, are required to keep confidential special education records for a minimum of five years after a student is disenrolled rom the district. Medicaid-related records must be kept for six years. These records may include the following: access logs, contact logs, referral to special education and eligibility reports. The latter include assessment results, Individual Education Program (IEP) documents, progress reports and data sheets, correspondence, medical records that were shared with the district, and other miscellaneous records including Medicaid-related documents.

Student records for students with birthdays between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003 are due for destruction on August 1, 2026.

The following accolade was submitted by Rebecca Cox and Dr. Mary Gervase:

We are writing to formally bring to your attention the outstanding achievements of the Wild West Days Planning Committee. The multi-day Wild West Days experiential history event, held at Hailey Elementary from May 18-20, was a massive undertaking. Bringing history to life through 12 interactive, hands-on learning stations for 270 local fourth graders required an immense logistical and creative effort. This project simply would not have been possible without the tireless dedication of your staff committee members, who went above and beyond their standard duties.

The scope of their commitment went above and beyond the usual committee expectations. The team formalised their efforts across 8 comprehensive planning meetings, meticulously mapping out station logistics, volunteer scripts, and safety protocols.

Beyond face-to-face meetings, staff managed an exceptional volume of communications—navigating hundreds of emails and text messages to seamlessly align school district partners, volunteers, and museum resources.

Their commitment to active learning ensured that every student left with a deep, tangible connection to Idaho's frontier history.

We would also commend your conscientious and generous facilities staff:

  • Josh Mayes
  • Jared Stellers
  • Shawn Bennion

And Ian Blacker and his students for the three roping stations they built for the event.
